Don’t Overlook this Crucial Opportunity…

If you’re like many parents these days, you have a jammed packed schedule. It probably gets particularly busy when you factor in your kids’ schedules.

Between school, ball practice, band practice, homework, and a number of other involvements, you’re kids calendars probably seem almost as busy as yours.

Within all of the hecticness lies something that is often overlooked. Something that, if used properly, can be a gamechanger for spending more quality time with your kids.

The key?  Car time.

The average American spends over an hour and a half in the car each day. While a great deal of that time is often spend commuting to and from work, chances are some of that time involves your family and kids.

That begs the big question: How are you using your car time?

Certainly listening to music and podcasts are good things, but don’t miss the opportunity to talk to your kids. How was their day at school?  What’s something exciting they have coming up?  Have they been worrying about anything lately?

Time in the car can also be a fun opportunity to ask silly or funny questions to your kids.

Questions like…

  • Would you rather travel to outer space or the bottom of the ocean?”

  • If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of the year, which restaurant would you choose?

  • If your life depended on you singing a karaoke song, which song would you sing?

No matter how you choose to use car time, we encourage you to make it an intentional time to invest in your kids and get to know them even better. You’ll be so glad you did!
